the rondo

Today has been another massive day. We walked up the mountain and took the ski lift to the top where we found snow! After whizzing about on mini snow slides we walked to the lookout point for a short break to admire the view and take photos. Then we walked all the
 way down from 2000 feet!
An exhausting but amazing day.

Tomorrow we swim, shop and pack to come home. Au revoir.

the water day

The day started with everyone donning a wetsuit and life jacket for the white water rafting. We were allocated to four  large dinghies and we set off with our French guides. We were all impressed with Elliott's ability to  translate under pressure!
The boats carreened down the river and we all paddled like.crazy. We were all doing well until the giant paddleboard manned by Dany and Mr Goosen and Mr Dixon and Rob shot past only to flip them all into the water! It was very exciting. Mr Burgess swapped with Mr Dixon who was apparently like a chicken on one leg!
Further down in calmer water we practised jumping in the river and getting into each other's boats. This was great until we all got mixed up. Everyone got in the water and we all got very wet.

In the afternoon we repaired to the lakeside where we enjoyed the aqua park on the lake. This consists of a floating playground of giant inflatables that can be climbed, bounced, sold down and climbed over. Exhausted, we then relaxed on the grass and had an ice cream and a leisurely swim.
Afterwards we went into nearby Embrun to shop and look around.
Special mention today must go to Oli Gilbert who supported Khansa and loads of other people when rafting. Tom Gilbert did an awesome somersault. Paige navigated the spinning platform. Miles was just exceptional all day. Dan Parker did some great swimming. Everyone showed amazing team skills today.
Lastly a special shout out to Faaiq who not only split his underwear on the via ferrata but also dropped his only other pair out of the hotel window to land on the hotel sign below. Luckily they have been retrieved.
Tomorrow is the long walk so it's an early night for us all. Bonnie nuit.
